LOT #14: OUR NEW HOME

I’ve mentioned before that we’ve been building a house, and I wanted to share some of the details here.

Until we found this opportunity we didn’t think we’d be able to afford a house, much less a new build. But we realized that if we were willing to move out just a little bit farther, we could do just that.

Friends and family have been supportive but concerned with the distance. I’ve gotten used to that reaction, and combat it by saying that an extra 20 minutes won’t kill us, the house is stunning, and it will provide the best childhood for Logan.

We’re moving to a brand new and quiet neighborhood with plenty of kids Logan’s age. We’ll have a big house, a nice backyard and a handful of parks within walking distance.

And for purely selfish reasons, I’ll have my dream home that was literally designed for me – by me!

I’m unbelievably grateful that our family has this opportunity. Our goal as parents is to give the best life possible to our kids, and I feel like we’ve made the best decision possible, in order to do this.

  1. Thats awesome! Congratulations!! We moved this past year about 30 mins from where we wanted to be, but got a much better, bigger house in a great neighborhood by doing so. So worth it!!

  2. Congrats on your new home! I think building is the way to go. You get everything the way you want it and there’s nothing better than a custom built house! I have so many friends who have said they’ll never build again because it was stressful, but I really want to build myself! Your home is just lovely!
